e-bulletin 36 – 6. ISSOP Trainee Group Report

Here are some highlights of what our trainees have been up to over the past few months:

• In order to better understand the professional background of those interested in social paediatrics, and what it means to them; we created an online survey. We are asking all ISSOP members to complete the survey at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BSBC6JJ

• Logistics of the mentorship program are being worked out, with the goal to link mentors and mentees in early 2019!

• Trainee, Dr. Guddi Singh has been involved in excellent community engagement work in a show that uses state-of-the-art technology to help us see what shapes babies’ formative years and the effect parents have on their development. https://secure.whatsontv.co.uk/events/babies-wonderful-world-bbc2-26-nov-18/

• A group of Paediatricians, Ob/Gyns and Midwives, including ISSOP trainees, Drs. Anna Battersby and Anja Saso, participated in the 4^th Annual Midwifery Training Programme at the Medical Research Unit, The Gambia @LSHTM, Fajara. The event included Helping Babies Breathe and Midwifery training to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
